Happy Birthday Scrapbook Pages
March 29, 2015
Scrapbook club in March featured the fun Balloon Framelits from Stampin' Up's Occasions catalog and the coordinating Celebrate Today stamp set. I love how you can save 15% when you buy them at the same time as a bundle.
Here is the left side page in my two page layout...
And here is the right side page...
The 4 & 1/4" by 5 & 1/2" card stock photo mats all line up nicely when the pages are next to each other. The color scheme of Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow was inspired by the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper, which features those colors plus a couple of others.
TIP: I used the thick twine from the In Color Accessory Pack Sale-a-bration item (only available for a few more days: free with a $50 order (U.S.) until March 31) and tied the three pieces of twine together first and then taped each one to the back of its respective balloon. Dimensional adhesive on the backs of the balloons then make it easy to stretch them into place once I adhered the knot onto the page with a glue dot.
The inlaid "Happy" on the right hand page was made using a technique I'll share in a future post when I show a card version. (The word was die cut using the Hello You Thinlits dies which are unfortunately out of stock temporarily so they cannot be ordered right now -- I'll keep you posted). The stars in that strip of Crushed Curry card stock were punched with the Confetti Stars Border Punch.
I LOVE the Celebrate Today stamp set used on these pages. In addition to the fun balloon shapes, there are words you can stamp below the word Happy on the one balloon that say Birthday, Wedding, Baby and Graduation, so it covers a lot of occasions.
