Eastern Elegance Envelope Punch Board Card Set

I named this post because the project draws its name from the beautiful Designer Series Paper used on the set of cards. The colors -- Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Whisper White are all taken from the paper. And using Stampin' Up's! awesome heavyweight white notecards and matching envelopes make this a snap.

First photos of all the prettiness -- then how-to instructions. So read on...

Here is is all bundled up with its pretty belly band.

And here it is with the band off.

And open so you can see the pretty set of four matching cards and envelopes peeking out -- did I tell you this project makes a great gift?

Now some instructions and a photo of the box once it's punched and scored with the awesome Envelope Punch Board (I start with an 8 1/2 inch square of Coastal Cabana card stock) -- and you can see where I stamped images.

Stamps Used: Box: Butterfly Collection wheel (with Versamark ink); Beautifully Baroque; Mixed Bunch (flower for belly band)

Cards: A Dozen Thoughts; Million & One; Papillion Potpourri; Hello. Lovely.; Tape It

Box with Envelope Punch Board: Line up left edge of 8½” Coastal Cabana CS square at 3 & 3/8” mark on Punch Board; punch & score. Slide over to 4 & 3/8” mark, punch & score. Turn the CS 90 degrees counter clockwise & align each score line with the SCORE GUIDE & punch and score (you are NOT measuring after you've punched the first side -- you're just lining up each existing score line with the SCORE GUIDE). Repeat this double score/punch twice more on other two sides. DON’T fold any of the score lines until you’ve stamped. There will be a horizontal orientation to the scoring; with that in mind, use the Reverse Punch to round one corner as the box’s top flap.

Box Stamping: Roll on butterflies with self-inking Versamark wheel. Two rows fit between the middle score lines. Be sure they’re right side up & make sure to start rolling off the card stock & roll all the way off the other side. Use Stamp-a-ma-Jig to stamp the Baroque image on top flap with Coastal Cabana ink.

Box Assembly: Cut the top & bottom flaps with Paper Snips, cutting out a tiny wedge so the flaps close easily. NOTE: You will cut down from the top on the top flaps & in from the side on the bottom flaps. Fold on all score marks. Mark with pencil where the bottom flap’s point intersects with the side flaps & cut that straight with scissors. Adhere the small flaps at the bottom to the inside of the box sides with one Glue Dot (this helps square up your box). Then use Tombow “Green Lid” glue on sides of bottom flap so it’s adhered over the folded side flaps. Remember a little Tombow goes a long way. Avoid using too much or it will ooze out.

Box Belly Band: Punch (2) 1¾” Coastal Cabana circles at Punching Station. Adhere 1¼” by 12” Venetian Elegance DSP to 1½” by 12” Crushed Curry CS. TIP: Use Snail for this but don’t press it down too hard because you want to then curl the band & DSP with the bone folder to build in ease; then press out bubbles and smooth down as needed. With center of strip lined up with center back of box, finger fold it around the box, pressing each score line after finger folding. There will be a little gap in the front. Assemble your punched flower embellishment & adhere to a Coastal Cabana Circle with (2) Dimensionals. Put (2) Glue Dots on right side of each end of the band, wrap around box & attach the Flower/Circle so it’s centered. Line-up & adhere 2nd circle to back of band with glue dots. (I put three glue dots on the circle in a horizontal row).

CARD TIPS:

- Adhere ruffled ribbon by putting a thin line of Tombow “Green lid” glue on the back, bottom edge of the “Just Because” greeting strip. Trim ribbon ends. Adhere with (3) Dimensionals.

- Use Hexagon Punch upside down to punch a tiny “house” shape from the bottom of DSP used as banners. It’s easiest to adhere with SNAIL & THEN trim the tops even with card edges.

- Pierce around punched butterfly hole using the Occasions Paper Piercing pack BEFORE adding Dimensionals; add SNAIL to back of 2” DSP square, hold behind the hole and lower into place to adhere DSP to card front; then adhere panel using (7) Dimensionals (one in each corner and three down the middle)

- Follow samples to adhere rhinestones (you’ll be using (1) of each size & a strip of three connected ones cut from the longer strips). Bitty Butterflies are adhered with a Glue Dot.

There you have it -- a beautiful box of cards. You can shop for any of the products used in my onlline store.
