Artistic Etchings Card
July 19, 2010
Sorry to have been such a stranger! We had a family vacation plus I've been busy getting ready for Stampin' Up's annual convention. So many great ideas are shared there -- it's a wonderful part of being a demonstrator. I wanted to finally share the full view of the card I showed as a sneak peek before my new catalog Open House.
This uses so many new things that I love -- the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder for the Big Shot on the black card stock layer; the Newsprint Designer Series Paper -- I'll be using LOTS of this and I love how it looks when you stamp on it -- so many great and varied patterns in the package; the stamp set is the new Artistic Etchings -- and the greeting is from Perfect Punches and then shaped with the Curly Label punch. Let's talk new colors -- Cherry Cobbler is the delicious new deep, wine-colored red that is just what More Mustard needed in this case to look more sophisticated. I love Cherry Cobbler the best of all SU's new colors -- even the medallion image behind the tower was stamped with Cherry Cobbler -- it was just inked and "stamped off" first on scrap paper for a lighter tone. And notice the little ribbon accent -- 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon in lots of colors. Like I said, so much to love in the new Idea Book & Catalog. The card base is Naturals Ivory -- a great, heavy weight card stock SU carries that is a nice match for the vanilla shade in the newsprint paper when you want an alternative to Very Vanilla smooth card stock.
I made a bunch of these cards to swap at convention this week for a special swap that I'm in with other demonstrators who are part of SUDSOL -- a special online group for Stampin' Up Demonstrators. I've now stamped the Eiffel Tower enough to last me for awhile! Happy stamping!
