A Valentine Treat - And a surprise embellishment!
January 29, 2010
I love making candy treats for a day like Valentine's. This is a special little box I'll be sharing with my hostess at a workshop tonight. The box itself was easily made using the Sending Love Designer Paper from Stampin' Up (already glittered paper!). It was cut out with SU's exclusive Fancy Favor Box die for the Big Shot die cutting system.
Here's what's inside:
The new Large Flower Punch and matching stamp image in the With all my Heart set is a great cover up for those classic Peppermint Patty treats. FYI -- York is changing it's packaging and it's not too easy to find the ones that are round and not in a square wrapper anymore. But there are lots of store brands left in the round shape.
You have to have the standard Hershey Nuggets covered with a 1 inch by 3 inch strip of matching paper.
And these little Hershey bars are wrapped in glittery paper and the ends are crimped so they stay closed until the recipient has to take a bite.
Check out this little embellishment I thought up when I was working on a coordinating easel card design (next post I'll show that).
The sheet of Vanilla paper with tiny glittered flowers in the Sending Love pack made me think of the Trio Flower punch and I thought they just had to match. They do and if you cut the paper into rows you can reach every flower in that row. The center is a neat trick as well -- press the punched flower to a mini glue dot and then completely cover the glue dot with our Red fine glitter. Instant cute accent!
Happy Stamping!
