Sorry for the short break - a summer cold has thrown me for a loop! So I'll share several cards I received in the Manly Swap I took part in and fill in just a few tips that they inspire. The First one uses the bear image from Wildlife Reserve set from SU. The tip from this card: that interesting background pattern on the black mat layer was made by putting rubber bands on the roller portion of a brayer and then inking it with white craft ink and rolling it on the paper for a very organic, neat look.
Finally, a nautical turn with an SU lighthouse image and I believe it was painted in with craft ink refills to resemble a small oil painting. It reminds me of the oil painting hobby featuring highly detailed, paint-by-number canvases that was very popular in the 1960s when I was a kid. I've got more manly cards left to share before Father's Day, including a photo tutorial for a really cute idea so check back and I'll "get 'er done" as my cold improves and I stop sneezing and using a box of Kleenex a day (it seems like anyway!)
