These are the 6 inch, brag book size scrapbook pages from my monthly Scrapbook club today. I really like how they turned out for several reasons:
- Club members are working on albums for either gender so I have to make them appropriate for either and this color scheme does that. The people doing "boy" pages also could easily substitute the little heart stamp from Doodle That SU set in place of the small flowers cut out and used here -- lots of versatility!
- I really like how the large embossed Doodle image from the Doodle This set in the lower left corner works -- it really pops. It was simply stamped with Versamark and then embossed with Clear Detail powder. The image was "extended" by adding on the small doodle image from Doodle That. (aren't these Doodle names confusing, but fun!)
- I like how the papers mimic the swirliness of the doodle images.
- And I was trying to highlight the Warm Words set which has a handwritten look that I thought complemented the doodle images -- plus it happens to be part of the Stampin' Up April special. Using the Stamp a ma jig stamp positioner (my favorite!) allowed us to make it appear to be "doodling" right into the small doodle image .... again from Doodle That! Loved that little touch.
I always have club members add photos at home... but I test the page by holding a photo in place to make sure I like the look. In this case the embossed doodle image would frames a photo nicely -- and you could even slice along the ruffled edge of the embossed image with a hobby blade to slide part of your photo under that lower edge.
Best of all -- I love anything with "chocolate" in the name! Really like these SU papers in Chocolate and Vanilla. SO much potential.
