Snowflake Glitter Card

Snowflake_glitter_1Inspired by a Beate Johns card using this "Packing Tape Glitter" technique, this card takes the idea to the edge of winter using the Snowflurries set from the SU Holiday Mini catalog and Seeing Spots set from main Idea Book. Punch various size circles in a stamped strip of Bashful blue card stock that's 2 & 1/4 inch by 4 & 1/4 inches. I used 1 & 1/4 inch, 3/4 inch, 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch circle punches. Use your punched strip as a stencil placed over a white CS strip that's sized slightly smaller. Stamp snowflakes and circle images through the holes.

Cover the back of the stamped and punched blue strip with Scotch brand clear packing tape. (I recommend not cheaping out on the tape -- other cheap ones don't work as well.) Make sure no tape hangs over the edges or is too close to the edge. Cover the sticky side with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and burnish it a little with the back of the plastic spoon you sprinkled it on with. Tap off excess and wipe with a Swiffer cloth is you want to get off a little more.

Layer this on Night of Navy CS piece -- it's 2 & 1/2 by 4 & 1/4 and then onto a stamped card front. I wrapped the strip with silver cord and then slipped narrow white organdy ribbon under the silver knot and tied a simple knot with the ribbon and silver cord tails held together. This strip can be heavy so you might want to use a stronger adhesive then SNAIL to hold the finished element to your card.
